COVID-19 Update As Of May 16: 88,145 Specimens Examined, 182 New Cases Confirmed

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. Of the 88,145 specimens examined, there were 182 new confirmed cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,050,958 and active cases have fallen by 87 to 4,697 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Monday, May 16.

Today's recovered cases increased by 263 people, bringing the total to 5,889,797 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 6 cases and the total was 156,464 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 70 cases and a total of 1,249,179 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 19 new cases with a total of 627,370 cases. Bali has 17 new cases and a total of 157,419 cases. Banten has 15 new cases and a total of 292,777 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 71 recovered cases. Followed by Banten with an additional 60 recovered cases, West Java with 32 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 26 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 21 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 97,434,437.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.34 percent," wrote the Ministry of Health.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 1,160 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 199,625,406 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 166,273,179 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

Then the third dose of vaccination was 42,709,756. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
