Kasdam XVI/Pattimura Passes Away
AMBON - Chief of Staff of Military Command (Kasdam) XVI/Pattimura Brigadier General Stepanus Mahury died at Siloam Hospital Ambon, Maluku, Saturday, May 14 at 17:47 WIT due to heart failure.
Head of Information for Kodam XVI/Pattimura Colonel Arh. Adi Prayogo confirmed that the death of the second person at the Pattimura Kodam was due to heart failure.
"We convey the sad news. We have returned to Father in Heaven's house, Brigadier General Stepanus Mahury, Kasdam XVI/Pattimura, on Saturday (14/5) at 17.47 at Siloam Hospital Ambon due to illness," he said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 14.
Kapendam emphasized that Brigadier General Stepanus Mahury was a good leader. "He is a good person and deserves the best place in heaven. Believe me, the Lord Jesus is with him there," said Kapendam.
Kapendam did not explain the chronology of the death of Kasdam Stepanus, but based on the information obtained, the deceased was evacuated from the official residence to the Army Hospital (RST) dr. JA Latumeten. However, because his condition worsened, he was referred to Siloam Hospital.
When he arrived at Siloam Hospital, the deceased immediately received help from the medical team. The process of handling the emergency by medical personnel was witnessed directly by Pangdam XVI/Pattimura Maj. Gen. Richard Tampubolon, but the number two at Kodam Pattimura finally breathed his last.
The news of the death of Kasdam Pattimura shocked Ambon City residents, including journalists, because a few hours earlier the deceased had represented the Commander of the XVI/Pattimura Military Commander Major General Richard Tampubolon to accompany Maluku Governor Murad Ismail in opening the "Kalesang Sungai" social service in Ambon City.
The Kalesang Sungai Bakti is one of the activities held by the ranks of the XVI/Pattimura Kodam to enliven the 23rd Anniversary of the Indonesian Army's territorial command on May 15, 2022.
Brigadier General Stepanus Mahury was born in Piru, the capital of West Seram Regency (SBB) on 17 May 1965 to Maria Pagora Maris and Daniel Mahury.
The deceased has served as Kasdam XVI/Pattimura since February 25, 2022 based on the Decree of the TNI Commander Number Kep/179/II/2022, concerning dismissal from and appointment to positions within the TNI which was signed directly by the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa.
Graduated from the Military Academy in 1988 and proficient in the field of infantry, he has been a high-ranking TNI-AD officer since September 13, 2021 and has served as Aspotwil Kaskogabwilhan III.
He is survived by his wife Sri Diani Krisniawati and two sons and a daughter, namely Rivan Andriawan Mahury, Renita Laira Mahury, and Rendy Ardiansyah Mahury.
The late Stepanus Mahury completed his general education at SD Negeri 1 Hative Kecil (1979), SMP Negeri 1 Ambon (1982), SMA Negeri 3 Ambon (1985).
During his career in the TNI-AD he served as Platoon Commander Battalion 301/PKS, Company Commander Infantry Battalion 301/PKS, Pasintel Korem 042/Garuda Putih (1998-2001), Kasdim 0421/Lampung Selatan (20012002).
In addition, Dandenintel Kodam III/Siliwangi (2005-2007), Dandim 0605/Subang (2009), Waasintel Kodam III/Siliwangi (2010-2012), Kagabpam Set Kodiklat TNI-AD (2012-2015), Director of Research and Development Center for Research and Development (2015).
