Successfully Breaking Through Iron Bars, 4 Aceh Besar Prisoners Escape
JAKARTA - Four detainees at the Banda Aceh Class IIB State Detention Center (Rutan) in the Kahju area, Aceh Besar, escaped. They were mistaken after they managed to break through the iron bars above the doors of the cells or detention rooms.
The head of the Class IIB Banda Aceh Detention Center, Irhamuddin, said that out of the four people who escaped, three were still prisoners. While one person is already a convict.
"They fled this morning (Wednesday, 14/10) at around 05.00 WIB after shouting came from their cell room. They broke through the iron bars, ran up the roof and climbed the walls of the prison using cloth," said Irhamuddin to reporters in Aceh Besar, reported by Antara. , Wednesday, October 14th.
The four people were Zuhri bin M Yasin. The person concerned is a prisoner in a drug case who is currently in the trial process.
Then Azmi Hanafiah with the status of a prisoner of 14 years. Azmi Hanfiah is a drug convict whose new legal decision has permanent legal force.
"Prisoner Azmi Hanafiah is planning to be moved to Nusakambangan, Central Java. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the transfer has been postponed," said Irhamuddin.
Furthermore, Muliadi bin Suid Ali, is a prisoner of a panel of judges in a drug case and Sulaiman bin Abdul Hamid is a police investigator prisoner, also in a drug case.
Irhamuddin said the three detainees and one prisoner who escaped were residents of the isolation or quarantine room. They were quarantined due to an attempt to escape some time ago along with seven other people. However, their attempts failed.
"At that time, there were 11 people, but they failed to escape. They were then put in isolation. After training, one of them came to his senses and was returned to the public cell. So, there were only 10 people. Of the 10 people, four of them fled, "he explained.
Irhamuddin said that after it was found out that four prisoners had fled, his party immediately coordinated with the police for the initial search. However, those who fled were not found.
"We have also called all officers on duty for an internal check. We have also reported to the police to help find and chase those who fled," he said.
