CPO Export Corruption Case, AGO Examines 3 Witnesses From The Ministry Of Trade

JAKARTA - Investigators of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office examined three witnesses from the Ministry of Trade related to the investigation into the alleged corruption case of granting export facilities for crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative products, Friday. Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) Attorney General's Office Ketut Sumedana said the three witnesses, namely the initials R as trade analysts at the Ministry of Trade. Then, DR and P as trade facilitators at the Ministry of Trade. "The three witnesses were examined as people who carried out the export approval (PE) issuance process at the Ministry of Trade through the inatrade system," said Ketut in a written statement quoted by Antara, Friday, May 13. The day before , Thursday (12/5), investigators examined 5 witnesses. Of the five witnesses, 3 witnesses from the Ministry of Trade and 2 other witnesses from the private sector. Three witnesses from the Ministry of Trade, namely the initials K, DM and AF, as trade analysis. They were examined regarding the mechanism for submitting an export permit to the Ministry of Trade. Two other witnesses, initials EN as Director of PT Jampalan Baru, were questioned regarding the amount of cooking oil ordered to Permata Hijau Group, and its distribution flow. Witness LCW alias WH as policy advisor/analyst at Independent Research and Advisory Indonesia. "Witness LCW was examined for further examination related to witness explanations with several ministries, business actors, meetings through zoom meetings related to cooking oil problems," said Ketut.

Ketut added that the examination of witnesses was carried out to strengthen evidence and complete the filing in cases of alleged corruption in the provision of export facilities for CPO and its derivative products in the period January 2021 to March 2022. In this case, the investigating prosecutor team has named 4 suspects, namely the Director General of Trade. Foreign Affairs Ministry of Trade (Dirjen Daglu) Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana, Master Parulian Tumanggor as Commissioner of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, Stanley MA as Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs of PT Pelita Agung Agrindustri/Permata Hijau Group, and Picare Tagore Sitanggang as General Manager of General Affairs Section of PT Mas season.
