Condemns The Assassination Of Palestinian Ambassador Shireen Abu Akleh: The People And The Government Make Her A Martyr
JAKARTA - The murder of al -Jazeera senior journalist Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli officials is a heinous act.
"The killing of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh by Israel is a heinous crime that we find and we face today", said Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al-Shun in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, May 13.
The statement was delivered by the Palestinian Ambassador at a Press Conference in commemoration of the Palestinian Nakbah Day which is commemorated every May 15. Nakbah Day is the annual commemoration of the expulsion of the Palestinians to establish the state of Israel in 1948.
Shireen Abu Akleh is a senior al-Jazeera journalist with Palestinian citizenship. He said Israel continues to commit atrocities and crimes against the Palestinian people to this day. “The atrocities and heinous crimes must be faced by the Palestinian people", he said.
He said the Palestinian people and government paid tribute to Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. "The Palestinian people and government have made Shireen Abu Akleh now a martyr in our hearts", he said.
In addition, Ambassador Zuhair said Israel continues to conduct occupation politics against the Palestinian people.
"We call on the world and the international community to stand by us to fight for what we are facing from the repression perpetrated by Israel", he said.
Until he continued, the rights of the Palestinian people can be obtained and created.
"The attacks by the Israeli army and Israeli immigrants show that Israel wants to continue to wreak havoc in the Palestinian territories", said Ambassador Zuhair.
He said Israeli immigrants continued to confront to make holy places such as the Al-Aqsa Mosque out of the reach of Muslims.
