JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria claimed that his party did not want to interfere in the process of selecting the Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Although, the Ministry of Home Affairs can receive input from various parties, ranging from ministries, institutions, to regions to recruit the names of the Acting Governors who will be elected later.
"Regarding the Acting Governor, we don't want to interfere in that area. We leave it entirely to the central government," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, May 12 evening.
Whoever the Acting Governor of DKI will be elected later, Riza emphasized that his figure must have the ability to lead Jakarta during the vacant position of the Governor of DKI after Anies Baswedan stepped down.
"We know the criteria and conditions together in general. What is important, we will support whoever is assigned later, surely those assigned are people who have good competence and understanding," said Riza. Previously, Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian said three The name of the candidate for the acting governor of DKI Jakarta to replace Anies Baswedan is being screened. Later, the name will be submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in September.
"The three names were submitted to the President. The same as the one in October (DKI Jakarta) a month earlier, well, in September we will already have the names, we will submit them to the President," Tito told reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs Building.

Furthermore, Tito explained the criteria for the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. Whoever is elected, he must be a high-ranking middle-ranking official.
"He must be a middle high leadership official, so he is echelon one. We are still at the stage of receiving input. Whether the person concerned has a problem or not, we are profiling, whether there is a potential case or not," he said.
From the start, the Ministry of Home Affairs proposed the names of the acting regional heads to President Jokowi. The proposed name has gone through a screening process and asked for input from ministries/agencies to community leaders.
