Acting Governor Of Gorontalo Affirms President's Directions
GORONTALO - The newly inaugurated Gorontalo Governor Hamka Hendra Noer, Thursday, May 12, said he would comply with the directives of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who entrusted the regional leadership to him for the next year.
"I am grateful to have been appointed by the president and because we are a bureaucracy, we must be upright with the direction of the leadership, the direction of the president," said Hamka after being sworn in in Jakarta.
Hamka, who previously served as Expert Staff for Sportivity Culture at the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, admitted that he still needed time for internal consolidation with all parties.
"I can't comment much because I have to map everything out first. I need one week for internal consolidation," he was quoted as saying by Antara. Hamka was born in Manado on July 20, 1968 and has a wife, drg. Gamaria Purnamawati Monoarfa, and two children namely Dini Heidiati Putri Noer and Muhammad Hazel Giffari Noer.
Hamka finished his undergraduate education at Sam Ratulangi University Manado in 1992, then continued his Masters studies at the University of Indonesia (UI) and graduated in 1998.
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree was obtained in 2012 at the National University Of Malaysia Bangi-Selangor.
His previous positions include being a researcher at the Logistics Affairs Agency (Bulog) in 1997-2001, then in 2001-2002 the Head of the Sub-Division of Food Safety and 2002-2003 the Head of the Food Consumption Division at the Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare, RI.
Previously he also held a number of positions at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, starting from the Menpora Expert Staff, Head of Student Programs, and Head of Student Organization Empowerment.
In 2014 Hamka served as Deputy Assistant (Asdep) for Youth Workers, then Deputy Assistant for Recreational Sports, and Deputy Assistant for Science and Technology and Youth Imtak which he held from 2018 to 2021.
From January to March 2021, he served as Head of the Planning and Organizational Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports and most recently became the Expert Staff of the Minister of Youth and Sports.
Hamka is also active in a number of organizations such as the Head of the Manado Branch of HMI, the Secretary General of Lamahu, and the management of the KNPI DPP.
In addition, he is active as a Postgraduate lecturer in Political Science, Muhammadiyah University, Jakarta, as well as a lecturer and Head of the Communication Sciences Department at Esa Unggul University, Jakarta.
