For The Sake Of Online Gambling, 2 Men In Buleleng Steal IDR 20 Million In Anyar Market

BULELENG - Two men with the initials MM and SS were arrested by the Buleleng Resort Police team, Bali. Both were arrested for stealing Rp20 million for online gambling

The theft was carried out at Pasar Anyar, Banjar Bali Village on March 19.

"The proceeds from the theft were used by the perpetrators to play online gambling and for daily necessities. The victim suffered a loss of Rp. 20,100,000," said Head of Public Relations of the Buleleng Police AKP Gede Sumarjaya, Wednesday, May 11.

The perpetrator was arrested after the victim, Wayan Redipa, reported it to the police. The perpetrators stole Rp20 million in cash and a cellphone from the victim's sling bag.

"The modus operandi used was that the perpetrator took the victim's belongings without the victim's knowledge and permission to possess it," said Sumarjaya.

In this case, the police confiscated Rp960 thousand in cash, the perpetrator's cellphone and motorbike.

"This incident is a crime of theft with a weight. In Article 363 Paragraph 1 to 4e of the Criminal Code, it is punishable by a prison sentence of seven years," he said.
