Indonesia U-23 National Team Wins 4-1 Over Timor Leste In The Second Match Of The 2021 SEA Games, Shin Tae-yong: Honestly, We Are Not Satisfied

JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian U-23 national team, Shin Tae-yong, admitted that he was not satisfied with the final score against Timor Leste in the second match of the Group A preliminaries of the SEA Games Hanoi 2021.

Indonesia beat Timor Leste with a score of 4-1 at the Viet Tri Stadium, Vietnam, on Tuesday, May 10 evening. This is the first victory of the Garuda squad from the two matches that have been played.

"Honestly we won 4 -1, but not satisfied with the (final) score. However, of course I want to congratulate the players," said the South Korean coach after the match.

Despite winning, Indonesia remains in fourth place in the standings with a collection of three points.

Egy Maulana Vikri and his friends are behind Myanmar (first position), the Philippines (second), and Vietnam (third).

The ambition of the Garuda Muda Squad to penetrate the semifinals is still very difficult. They have to win their remaining two matches so as not to go home early in the group stages.

Shin Tae-yong's squad will next face the Philippines on Friday, May 13. After that, they faced Myanmar in the last match, two days later.

"Now what we are thinking about is the wins against the Philippines and Myanmar. We will do our best every game while improving our performance," said Shin Tae-yong.

In the match against Timor Leste, Indonesia's winning goals were scored by Egy Maulana Vikri (16'), Witan Sulaeman (52', 77'), and Fachruddin (59'). Mouzinho (69') scored the only goal in reply for Timor Leste.
