Jokowi Comes To The ASEAN-US Summit In Washington DC Using A Garuda Plane, President Director: We Are Trusted To Bring The Face Of Indonesia On The Global Stage
JAKARTA - Today, the national airline Garuda Indonesia is again trusted to escort President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on a working visit (kunker) to the United States. This is the second time that Jokowi has used a Garuda aircraft to carry out work visits.
Jokowi's visit to the US is to attend the ASEAN-US Summit in Washington DC from 12 to 13 May 2022. The flight to Andrew Air Force Base Airport, Washington DC was carried out by operating a Boeing B777-300ER aircraft.
The aircraft is also equipped with a special livery for state aircraft in the form of a red and white color combination accompanied by the state symbol and the inscription of the Republic of Indonesia.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, said that the operation of this state flight is a manifestation of its own for Garuda Indonesia in carrying out its mandate as a national flag carrier, particularly in supporting the provision of accessibility of flight services for the strategic agenda of the state.
"The trust given to Garuda Indonesia to be a representative of the country in bringing the face of Indonesia in the global arena. This has also become a separate energy for Garuda in the midst of various efforts by Garuda to continue to make positive contributions to the country, in line with our commitment to provide safe and comfortable flight services. ," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, May 10. Irfan explained that the state flight was carried out through a series of comprehensive operational preparations and coordination with stakeholders. This is done to ensure that all aspects of flight safety, security and comfort can be implemented optimally.
"This state flight has departed smoothly today at 07:20 WIB this morning. We will continue to coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure that the entire state flight goes well," he said.
For information, President Joko Widodo left for Washington DC, United States of America this morning. Accompanied by Iriana Joko Widodo, Jokowi flew from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang.
During his visit to America, Jokowi was also accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi, and Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia.
