News Of The TNI AD Alutsista Project Mastered By KASD Friend, Kadispenad: Misleading Information

JAKARTA - The Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Tatang Subarna denied that the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman made arrangements for the procurement of the main weapon system project or the main weapon system for the Indonesian National Army.

"TNI General Dudung Abdurachman as the Army Chief of Staff leads and runs the organization professionally and obeys all applicable rules and mechanisms, including the procurement of defense equipment," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Saturday, May 7.

He explained that the mechanism for the procurement of the TNI's defense equipment had been regulated in the Minister of Defense Regulation No. 14 of 2020, with the selection process for the Defense and Security Providers being carried out at the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and not at the UO. This process is also accompanied by both internal and external audit institutions and also assisted by BPKP and LKPP.

This statement was made by Tatang in relation to media reports that said that the defense equipment procurement project in the Army was controlled by a friend of the Army Chief of Staff.

"The information is misleading and has not been confirmed beforehand," he said. Thus, the issue of appointing a security guard provider based on proximity to one of the officials is redundant and tends to lead to opinion.

Upon the circulation of the news, the Head of Dispenad said that the TNI AD would report and cooperate with the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Informatics and the Indonesian Police to conduct further investigations and further processing of the information because it was not accompanied by data and facts, thereby defaming the TNI AD institution and Kasad.

To the media crew, Kadispenad asked for confirmation from the TNI AD before reporting on the TNI AD so that there was no misinformation conveyed to the public.

"We will always be open and transparent regarding information within the Indonesian Army," he emphasized.
