China Launches Long March 2D Rocket, Brings Eight Commercial Satellites Into Orbit
JAKARTA - China launched a Long March-2D rocket carrying eight commercial satellites into orbit on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
The Jilin-1 Kuanfu 01C satellite along with seven Jilin-1 Gaofen 03D satellites departed from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province at exactly 10:38 local time (09:38 WIB).
Not long after, the satellite launched from the northern region of mainland China entered the designated orbit.
With a wide range, Jilin-1 Kuanfu 01C will be used to provide commercial remote sensing data services for sectors such as land resources, mineral exploration and smart city construction.
This is the 419th flight mission of the Long March rocket series, local media said.
Five days earlier a Long March-11 rocket launched off the coast of the East China Sea carrying five Jilin-1 Gaofen units into orbit.
The Long March-11 is China's only solid-fuel launch vehicle that can be launched from land and sea and has high speed, safety and flexibility.
