Get 1 Month Eid Remission, Ratu Atut Is Expected To Be Free Next Year
TANGERANG - The former governor of Banten, Ratu Atut Chosiyah, who was caught in a bribery case, received a reduced prison term or Eid remission at the Class IIA Tangerang Women's Child Prison.
Remission is given to the person concerned because he is considered to be of good behavior and fulfills administrative and substantive requirements.
"Yes, she (Ratu Atut Chosiyah) got a month's remission because she met the administrative and substantive requirements," said Head of Section IIA Tangerang Women's Child Prison Development, Herti Hartati, Monday, May 2.
When asked about the freedom of the former Banten official, Herti predicted that Ratu Atut would be free next year. "I've been serving the sentence here for a long time. Yes, if it's smooth (free) next year," he said.
Besides Ratu Atut, continued Herti, there was also Pinangki Sirna Malasari or Prosecutor Pinangki who received a reduced sentence or RK I.
"Similar to Mrs. Atut, Mrs. Pinangki also got RK I remission with a discount of 1 month," he said
On the occasion, Herti, apart from the two of them, also gave RK I and special remission or RK II to 234 other inmates. The remission varies from as small as 15 days to two months.
"There were 24 people who got a 15-day discount, 174 WBP (prisoners) got a month reduction. A total of 38 WBP received a 15-day reduction and 3 people who got a two-month reduced sentence," he explained.
Herti explained that the Class IIA Tangerang Women's Children's Prison has a total of 274 Muslim residents.
"But not all of them meet the requirements for remission," he concluded.
For information, Ratu Atut Chosiyah was sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to 5 months in prison.
Then the Supreme Court then increased Atut's sentence to 7 years in prison in February 2015.
Meanwhile, Pinangki Attorney Sirna Malasari from 10 years in prison to 4 years in prison. Pinangki was proven to be corrupt and committed money laundering.
