A Total Of 373 Makassar Prison Prisoners Receive Eid Remissions Including Corruptors

"The inmates who have received remission are prisoners of good behavior as evidenced by not serving a disciplinary sentence within the last six months," said Head of the Class I detention center at Gunung Sari Makassar, Moch Muhidin, in Makassar as reported by Antara, Monday, May 2.
The number of inmates who received a cut in the detention period for the RK 1 category for 15 days was 115 people. one month (213 people), and one month 15 days (four people). While the RK category 2 cuts the detention period of one month (one person) and one month 15 days (two people) for a total of 373 people.
The granting of the remission, he said, was effective from the date it was determined by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights after it had been previously proposed and had followed the coaching program well organized by prisons and remand centers.
Then, prisoners who are convicted for committing crimes of terrorism, narcotics, corruption, crimes against state security, serious human rights crimes, and other transnational crimes or crimes related to PP No. 99 of 2012 Article 34A.
In addition to the above conditions, he said, he had to fulfill additional requirements in the form of having paid the fine and replacement money in accordance with court decisions for convicts convicted of corruption.
In particular, terrorism convicts, he explained, have participated in the deradicalization program organized by the prison or BNPT, and have made a written pledge of allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia for Indonesian prisoners and will not repeat acts of terrorism in writing for foreign prisoners.
Currently, the number of residents of the Class I detention center in Makassar is 1,839 people as of May 2, 2022, while the prison's capacity is 1,000 people. The details are 505 inmates, 1,329 prisoners, and five additional babies.
The details are 394 general criminal cases, 1,430 narcotics cases, six people for corruption, two people for "illegal logging," and two for "illegal trafficking". Gender as many as 1,608 men, 231 women, and five additional babies.
