Trio Lestari Will Release New Song, Invite Glenn Fredly's Voice To Join
JAKARTA – The famous singer Glenn Fredly has long passed away. But his voice and creations will last forever to be remembered. Like what the music group Trio Lestari will do, which will release a song featuring the late Glenn Fredly's voice in it.
One of Trio Lestari's personnel, Sandhi Sondoro, revealed that the song, whose title is still being kept secret, has been recorded since 2021.
"There is Glenn's voice, only a little speech, he doesn't sing, we sing," said Sandhi at the Sarinah International Jazz Day 2022 event in Jakarta, Saturday, April 30.
The song is basically ready for release. However, because Sandhi and Tompi are busy, Trio Lestari has not found the right time.
"We're both busy. Actually, it's just a release, but we're all busy," said the "Never Dim" singer, as quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, April 2022 is the second anniversary of Glenn's departure. Sandhi, who last week visited the Editor of VOI, said that he might have an event commemorating his best friend when he performed at Prambanan Jazz on July 3, 2022.
Although he was saddened by Glenn's departure, Sandhi admitted that his musical activities must continue.
"We can't be sad all the time, we have to let it go. The point is that before there was Glenn and after Glenn wasn't there, I was still making music, so yes, it's sad, yes, it's sad, but it doesn't make my taste in music less," he said.
