West Java Police Chief Asks Residents Not To Convoy For Eid Takbiran
BANDUNG - West Java Police Chief Inspector General Suntana asked the public not to hold convoy activities or mobile takbiran during the takbiran night ahead of Eid 2022.
According to him, convoys or traveling takbiran can cause disturbance of order. So he asked people to do takbiran in their respective locations.
"We urge the public to carry out takbiran in a solemn and solemn manner by filling mosques, prayer rooms and surau," said Suntana at the Lebaran Dago Security Post, Bandung City, West Java, reported by Antara, Saturday, April 30.
In addition to disturbing order, according to him, the atmosphere of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri is still in a state of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to him, crowd activities are advised not to be carried out.
The West Java Police Chief has communicated with scholars and a number of Islamic community organizations to invite Muslims to carry out takbiran in their respective places.
In order to prevent mobile takbiran, the West Java Police Chief ensured that his staff would patrol a number of points on the night of takbiran to ensure public order.
"We and the West Java Forkopimda will carry out large-scale patrols to ensure that the community takbiran runs smoothly," he said.
There is also community mobility ahead of Eid 2022 in the city of Bandung which is quite busy. A large number of people flock to shopping centers to buy clothes or look for necessities in Eid celebrations.
