Sandiaga Asks Ancol Management To Maintain Environmental Sustainability

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno gave a message to the management of the Ancol Dreamland (TIJ) to be able to maintain environmental sustainability in the tourist area.

This is because the issue of environmental sustainability is the main focus of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in developing the tourism sector in the future.

"Tourism is a very detailed business and a total concept. So I see that in addition to the safety and health elements, sustainability is also very important and we harmonize this procedure with the behavior of the new era of society," said Sandiaga after visiting TIJ Ancol in North Jakarta, Jakarta, Saturday, in a statement quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 30.

When reviewing at TIJ Ancol, Menparekraf tried to ensure the readiness of the tourist destination in terms of disciplined health protocols from the community and strict supervision from the destination manager.

Then also directly monitor the ticketing flow at the east entrance of TIJ Ancol, starting from checking body temperature, and checking in on the PeduliLindung application.

As a favorite tourist attraction for tourists, TIJ Ancol is predicted to receive an increase in visits after the Idul Fitri holiday given the increasing mobility of the people in the range of 55 thousand visitors.

"Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows the number of tourist visits to these destinations reached 9,282,441 people in 2019," he said.

The management of TIJ Ancol is also stated to have implemented several rules during the Eid holiday season this year in accordance with the regulations for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level 2. Among other things, the visitor capacity is limited, which is a maximum of only 75 percent or around 90 thousand people.

For prospective visitors who want to travel to Ancol, Sandiaga said that ticket purchases can be made online at least D-1 through the website www.ancol.com or the Ancol Apps application.

"Pre-registration before this visit is an innovation and an opportunity for attractive digital activation, safe and healthy travel, as well as creative economic products that can be offered," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.

On the same occasion, creative economy players are advised not to take advantage of the Idul Fitri holiday momentum by increasing product prices that are too high. Therefore, training and capacity building for human resources is deemed necessary.

"I can convey that people want to buy if they are chased they run away, if they are hit they give up. So if we want to sell, of course we have to improve our packaging, improve our services, improve our ability to design better products and content in the future," said Sandiaga .
