Optimistic Towards The Second Leg Of The Conference League Against Leicester City, Mourinho: Everything Will Be Decided At The Olimpico
JAKARTA - AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho stressed that his team is optimistic about the match against Leicester City in the second leg of the Conference League semifinals at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, next Thursday.
Quoted from Antara from the club's official website, Friday, Mourinho assessed that the 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, Leicester was a pretty good result and they are confident about the second leg which will be played at their home.
"In any case, I am sure that before the game every Roma fan will happily accept this result, because it means that everything will be decided at the Olimpico," said Mourinho.
"I'm not smiling, because I know that even with 70,000 fans in the stadium it will be a difficult game."
Even so, Mourinho refused to let his team forget the match against Bologna in the Italian League which will be held this weekend at the Stadio Olimpico.
According to Mourinho, currently Roma will try to ensure that they qualify for the Europa League through the Italian League route so they don't depend on winning the Conference League competition.
"Sunday will be tough for us. Unlike Leicester who are focused on the Conference League because they have no chance of qualifying for Europe through the Premier League. But we still have that chance, there is a fifth place up for grabs and we have four games to do it," Mourinho explained. .
"Sunday's game will be very difficult. We have to focus, we need our fans and we have to forget that three days after that we will have a semi-final. We have to focus on Bologna."
In the second leg later, AS Roma must be able to win the match by one goal difference over Leicester City in order to ensure themselves qualify for the Conference League final.
