Inspector General Fadil Said, 3.6 Million People Have Left Jakarta
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya estimates that 3.6 million people have left Jakarta in four-wheeled vehicles to go home to celebrate Eid 1443 Hijriah in their respective hometowns.
"If you look at the statistics of vehicles leaving Jakarta as of today, yesterday it was around 74,000, if you add up all the 900 thousand vehicles from D-7, if you multiply the number of people in four, it means around 3.6 million," said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Fadil Imran, while inspecting the Cikampek Toll Gate, Thursday, April 28, quoted from Antara.
Fadil said, based on data from the Ministry of Transportation, around seven million people will leave Jakarta during this year's Eid holiday.
"According to the statistical survey of the Ministry of Transportation, around seven million people have left Jakarta with four-wheeled vehicles, so more than half of the people have left Jakarta," he said.
Then according to data from PT Jasa Marga as the toll road manager, it was recorded that 951,758 vehicles had left Jakarta from D-10 to D-5 Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri or the period 22-27 April 2022.
This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows from the four Barrier/Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (direction Merak), GT Ciawi (direction Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (direction Trans Java and Bandung).
The total volume of traffic leaving the Greater Jakarta area rose 9.4 percent compared to normal traffic for the November 2021 period with a total of 870,371 vehicles.
For distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek heading in three directions, namely the majority of 471,044 vehicles (49.5 percent) heading east (Trans Java and Bandung), 289,122 vehicles (30.4 percent) heading west (Merak) and 191,592 vehicles ( 20.1 percent) towards the South (Peak).
