Jumping Into The River During Drug Raids, Men In Medan Are Killed By The Current

MEDAN - Saprido (22) was found dead washed away by the Deli River, Medan. He died after jumping into a river during a drug raid carried out by personnel from the Belawan Police.

Public Relations of the Medan SAR Office, Sariman Sitorus, said the victim was found at around 07.48 WIB. The victim was found after a 2-day search.

"The victim is dead, about 2 km from the initial location where the victim jumped," said Sariman, Thursday, April 28.

The incident began when Belawan Police personnel carried out a raid on a drug village in Neighborhood 9, Pekan Labuhan, Tuesday, April 26, afternoon.

"When the raid took place, the victim tried to escape by jumping into the river. However, it is suspected that the victim could not swim so the missing victim was swept away by the river current," he explained.

Currently, the victim has been evacuated and taken to the funeral home.
