Police: Jakarta-Merak Traffic Flow H-5 Lebaran Increases By 120 Percent
JAKARTA - The National Police stated that there was an increase in the number of vehicles crossing the Jakarta-Merak toll road to reach 120 percent during the H-5 Lebaran 2022. This increase is compared to the number of vehicles on normal days.
"The normal exit for Merak is 2,317, the difference is 5,099, the difference is 2,782. So the trend is up 120 percent," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, to reporters, Wednesday, April 27.
Then for the opposite direction, there was also an increase of 85.5 percent. Where, on a typical day the number of vehicles is 2,261, while currently it is 4,196 vehicles.
In addition, said Gatot, based on data from the Korlantas Polri, an increase in the number of vehicles also occurred at the Cikupa Toll Gate (GT) in the direction of Merak. The increase is 15.2 percent.
"First, the Cikupa GT extrance in the direction of the Merak is normal with 16,745 vehicles normally, in fact 19,295 vehicles, the difference is 2,550 vehicles with an increasing trend of 15.2 percent," said Gatot.
The Cikupa GT towards Jakarta also experienced an increase of 20.4 percent. Because, from the data there was an increase of 3,346 vehicles from the usual day.
"The normal exit for Jakarta is 16,324 vehicles that pass, 19,670, there is a difference of 3,346 vehicles, so the trend is up 20.4 percent," said Gatot.
