The Ministry Of PUPR Ensures That The Homecoming Infrastructure Is Ready

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) ensures that the infrastructure for the 2022 Eid homecoming flow is ready to be used to support people's journeys to their hometowns.

"For roads, we have reported the readiness of toll roads and non-toll roads. There are 53 toll roads operating, 2,500 km we operate. As long as 1,670 km are in Java, 700 km are in Sumatra, 100 km are in Kalimantan, 40 km are in Sulawesi, 10 km are in Sumatra. in Bali," said PUPR Ministry Spokesman Endra S Atmawidjaja at a press conference on the readiness for Lebaran homecoming, reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 26.

Endra emphasized that all toll roads are in a ready condition and can be operated for the Eid homecoming flow.

In addition to toll roads, the PUPR Ministry has also prepared infrastructure in each type A rest area along the homecoming route by adding 100 units of portable toilets. The type A rest area is a rest area on the toll road equipped with gas stations, while the type B rest area does not have gas stations.

"The rest area already has 60 to 70 existing toilets, we add 100 to increase comfort to avoid queues. We want each vehicle to last 30 to 40 minutes and then take turns," he said.

In addition, the Ministry of PUPR together with the toll road business entity (BUJT) has also prepared various infrastructure on main roads such as repairing markings, lights, toll gates, to officers at toll gates to top up e-tolls.

Endra explained that regulations to regulate traffic flow back and forth belonged to the Ministry of Transportation and the National Police.

"Our regulations depend on the Ministry of Transportation and the police. When one way, contraflow, it's the discretion of the police, we will join," said Endra.
