The Milky Way Says About The Development Of The U-16 National Team: Needs More Trials

JAKARTA - The U-16 national team coach, Bima Sakti, gave a report on the development of players after undergoing training camp. According to Bima, his foster children still have a lack of mental problems where they can continue to be honed through a series of trials.

"The note from this team is about their mentality. "Yesterday we had a test with an outside team, it had a little bit of an effect on our mentality and maybe in the future we will have to do a lot of testing with other outside teams," said Bima Sakti coach in a PSSI release.

The U-16 national team just finished their last day of training camp (TC) on Sunday, April 24 after being trained all-out since April 15. The closing of TC was marked by a victory in the match against the Bandung Pro team at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta on Saturday.

In this period, Bima Sakti has reduced the number of selected players from 40 to 34 people. From the current number of players, the Milky Way also does not rule out the possibility to make cuts again.

"Maybe I will reduce the players again, now there are 34 players, we might call 30 or maybe less, because we have to focus more on strengthening the team, because the two upcoming tournaments are getting closer," he explained.

This series of TC itself was carried out by the U-16 national team in preparation for the U-16 AFF Cup and U-17 Asian Cup Qualification which took place this year.

After this TC session ends, the U-16 national team plans to hold TC again in June. However, this is still a plan, considering that the Milky Way will accompany the U-19 national team to compete in the Toulon Tournament in May 2022.
