3 Dead Tigers Caught In Traps In PT Aloer Timur Plantation Forest, A Number Of Witnesses Examined By The East Aceh Police

ACEH - The East Aceh Police are examining and asking for information from a number of people regarding the deaths of three Sumatran tigers (Panthera tigris sumatrae) that were caught in a trap in a remote forest area in the area. "The police are investigating the case of the death of the three tigers and are asking for statements from a number of witnesses," said East Aceh Police Chief AKBP Mahmun Hari Sandy Sinurat accompanied by Serbajadi Police Chief Iptu Hendra Sukmana in East Aceh, Antara, Monday, April 25. The police chief said the examination was carried out to obtain preliminary information regarding the findings of three Sumatran tigers that died from being caught in the sling. "In addition to questioning a number of witnesses, we are also waiting for the results of the necropsy on the carcasses of the three Sumatran tigers," said the East Aceh Police Chief. Previously, three Sumatran tigers were found dead from being snared in a forest area belonging to the plantation company PT Aloer Timur, in Sri Mulya Village, Peunaron District, East Aceh Regency, Sunday, April 24. The three tigers were found dead in two separate locations. The first findings were two tigers, one female and one male offspring. The second, found about 500 meters from the location of the first finding. The police chief said the first two tigers found were thought to have died in two to three days. While the second finding, is estimated to have died seven to eight days before being found. "Officers are also combing around the location where the tiger carcass was found because it is possible that there are still snares made of slings or iron cables that have the potential to ensnare other protected wildlife," he said.
