Current Condition Of Merak Port, Homecoming Flow Is Still Quiet
JAKARTA - The flow of going home through Merak Port, Banten until now seems empty of passengers who want to cross to Sumatra Island. The peak of going home is expected to occur on April 28-29. "We predict the peak of homecoming flow on D-3 or Friday (29/4)," said Darmanto, an official from Merak Port, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, April 23. So far, pedestrians and passengers on vehicles crossing to Bakauheni Port , Lampung looks deserted. The condition of the Merak Port is running smoothly and there is no visible accumulation of vehicles.
Eka Gunawan, a private vehicle driver, admitted that after arriving at Merak Harbor he immediately crossed at Pier I to Bakauheni Port, Lampung using KM Sapira Nusantara. He and his family members departed from Bandung at 14.30 WIB and arrived at Merak Port at 17.10 WIB. During The trip was overcrowded, but the backflow was running smoothly from the toll road to the Merak Port.
