Escape Using Pajero, Police Arrest Gold Thief In Cisoka

TANGERANG - Tangerang Police arrested five perpetrators suspected of stealing gold at a gold shop in Cisoka Market, Tangerang Regency. The 5 people had the initials S, NA, M, RD and FR. Tangerang Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho said three of the arrested perpetrators were women. They were arrested in the Palembang and Lampung areas on Friday, April 22.

"From that case, we arrested 5 people, 3 of whom were women," said Zain in his statement, Saturday, April 23.

Zain explained that the incident took place at Cisoka Market, Tangerang Regency, Tuesday, April 12.

Starting from the victim who served buyers at the gold shop, about 6 people came, 2 people gradually came.

Several perpetrators then distract the victim by pretending to ask about the price of gold.

"Meanwhile, other perpetrators shoplifted the gold in the storefront. The perpetrators managed to shoplift 7 pieces of 22-carat Singapore gold necklaces weighing 48 grams worth around Rp22 million," said Zain.

After successfully stealing the gold necklace, the suspects immediately fled using a Pajero car. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera which the police used as evidence.

After conducting an investigation and processing the crime scene (TKP), the police managed to identify the Pajero car used. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport car with the police number BE 54 NTI allegedly belongs to one of the female suspects with the initials S.

"Furthermore, after coordinating and mapping, the team went to Lampung and arrested the suspects and found a Pajero car which is identical to the car used by the suspect in the gold theft," he said.

For his actions, the 5 perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
