Option Of 3 Kg To 12 Kg Subsidized LPG, This Gang Of Perpetrators In Bogor Reaps A Profit Of IDR 175 Million Per Month

BANDUNG - Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, said that the perpetrators of mixing 3 kilograms of subsidized gas into 12 kilograms of gas cylinders in Bogor Regency, West Java, made a profit of around Rp. 175 million per month.

In this case, the police arrested two people with the initials MS and AA. In addition, 451 tubes were confiscated and consisted of 58 units of 12 kg cylinders, 8 units of 5.5 kg cylinders, and 385 units of 3 kg tubes.

"From the development and information obtained, the efforts of the suspects earn around Rp. 175 million per month," said Ibrahim at the West Java Police Headquarters, Bandung City, West Java, Antara, Thursday, April 21.

The perpetrators bought 3 kilograms of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) from authorized sellers around the TKP at a price of IDR 17,500 per unit. Next, the gas in the 3 kilogram cylinder is transferred to the 12 kilogram tube.

Each 12 kilogram tube, he said, was filled with four 3-kilogram gas cylinders. That way, the capital to mix a 12 kilogram tube from a 3 kilogram tube costs IDR 70 thousand.

The 12 kilogram gas cylinder is sold at a price of Rp. 180 thousand to Rp. 185 thousand per cylinder. Thus, the perpetrators can reap a profit from 12 kilograms of gas of Rp. 115 thousand per cylinder.

Meanwhile, West Java Police Deputy Director of Special Criminal Investigation AKBP Roland Ronaldy said that the perpetrators could move 200 3 kilogram tubes into 50 12 kilogram tubes in a day.

"The profit earned per day is around Rp. 5.7 million. If you calculate it, 1 month is around Rp. 175 million," he explained.

In this case, according to Roland, three people were named as suspects. Currently there are two suspects with the initials MS and AA, while another person with the initials GS is still on the wanted list (DPO).

As a result of their actions, they were charged with Article 55 Paragraph 5 concerning Energy and Mineral Resources of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation on Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas with a penalty of 6 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 60 billion.
