JAKARTA - A group of students were detained by the police in the National Monument area, precisely around the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Central Jakarta. They were arrested because they wanted to take part in a demonstration today, April 21.
It was seen that there were 7 children who were led by the police to the security post inside Monas. One of the students is 11 years old.

The student, who came from Bekasi, West Java, could only follow the direction of the police. When asked, one of the children admitted that they just joined in.
He heard the news that there would be a demonstration today, without knowing what the demands were, he immediately came to the location of the action.
"Yes, just come, your friends will give your name," said one student. For information, the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI) and the Indonesian Student Alliance (AMI) plan to hold a demonstration today.
Polda Metro Jaya will implement a traffic scheme during student demonstrations in the State Palace and DPR/MPR areas. Under the scheme, several roads were closed.
A total of 9,915 joint TNI-Polri officers were deployed to guard student and labor demonstrations in the National Palace or Monas area and the Indonesian House of Representatives today.
It is estimated that today's demonstration will number between 800 and 1,200 people. This estimate is calculated based on seven action notices received by Polda Metro Jaya.
