Anticipating The Demo, 105 Brimob Personnel From The NTT Police Were Sent To Jakarta
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya received assistance from Brimob personnel from the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police. A total of 105 Brimob personnel from the NTT Police were sent to Jakarta to help secure the planned BEM demonstration throughout Indonesia in the capital city.
"I thank the Dansatbrimob who have responded so that they can gather all 105 Brimob personnel and are ready to be dispatched today," said the NTT Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Setyo Budiyanto while leading the release ceremony for hundreds of Brimob BKO personnel in Kupang City, quoted from Antara, Thursday, April 21.
This, said the Kapolda, shows the readiness of the Brimob Polda NTT in carrying out the leadership's orders wherever they are and in whatever form.
The number one person in the NTT Regional Police stated that the Police leadership had given confidence and ordered the NTT Police to prepare 105 Brimob personnel to secure the demonstration in Jakarta.
"This contains the intent and purpose that the presence of Brimob members from the NTT Police is urgently needed to be able to assist Polda Metro Jaya personnel and join 15 other regional police," he said.
The two-star commander believes that Brimob members are able to carry out the leadership's orders because their skills and experience have been tested with previous security.
He also advised that in carrying out his duties, he must be sincere and full of responsibility.
According to him, the task of the BKO Polda Metro Jaya in securing rallies from the BEM alliance throughout Indonesia, is not easy and full of challenges.
"So, as the Police Mobile Brigade which is the mainstay of the National Police in dealing with high-intensity threats, we hope to be able to carry out this task well, safely and successfully," he said.
The Kapolda appealed to BKO personnel from Brimob NTT to avoid actions that could trigger demonstrations or conflicts as well as actions that are detrimental, endanger themselves or the unit.
He also advised the 105 personnel to understand the operational management system/security SOP, namely: first, clear task targets; second, the officers involved must be clear; third, how to act must be clear; fourth, who the controlling officer/officer is in the field must also be clear.
"We hope that we truly understand the areas of duty and responsibility in their respective scopes of duty and synergize with each other for the solidity of the NTT Satbrimobda," he said.
At the end of his remarks, the NTT Police Chief emphasized to BKO personnel to always increase vigilance and preparedness.
"Avoid arrogance and do not hurt or harm the interests of the community. Show a good attitude and behavior in accordance with the culture of the local community. Foster togetherness, discipline, and cooperation with other elements of the security forces," he said.
