Police Thwart Circulation Of 1 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine In East OKU, South Sumatra, Courier Promised To Wage IDR 25 Million Arrested
MARTAPURA - The Drug Investigation Unit of the East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Police of the Resort Police, South Sumatra, thwarted the circulation of 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine. In this drug case, the police arrested a suspect with the initials MH (25).
"In addition to confiscating evidence of 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine, the police arrested suspect MH, who is a drug courier for the Pekanbaru and Malaysia provinces," said East OKU Police Chief AKBP Nuryono, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 20.
He explained that the suspect was arrested while he was in a hut on Jalan Lintas Kota Baru Selatan, Martapura District, East OKU Regency.
This evidence worth billions of rupiah is an order from the residents of Kota Baru Selatan.
The suspect will be charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Narcotics Law or Article 112 paragraph (2) and Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
"We are developing orders at East OKU to find out who owns the drugs," he said.
Meanwhile, the suspect MH admitted that the drugs were obtained from the Pekanbaru city network, Riau Province and Malaysia.
He admitted that he was forced to become a drug courier because of the economic need to make a living and help pay for his parents' medical expenses.
"From the results of this courier, I was promised a fee of Rp. 25 million," he said.
