Including Qantas Airlines, 12 International Airlines Return To Regular Operations At Bali Airport

JAKARTA - A total of 12 international airlines have been operating regularly at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport since the first international flight arrived in Bali around February 2022 after the closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most recently, on Thursday, April 14, Bali's Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport received additional Qantas Airlines serving the Melbourne-Denpasar route pp.

"Since the international flight corridor at Bali Airport has been opened, the number of airlines has gradually increased. Yesterday Qantas Airlines also made its maiden flight. We enthusiastically welcome this 12th airline flight," said General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I International Airport I. Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Herry AY Sikado quoted by Antara, Friday 15 April.

On its inaugural flight to Bali, Qantas Airlines QF45 using a Boeing 737-838 registration VH-XZA landed on Thursday April 14 at 21:17 WITA with 155 passengers.

Then the same plane with flight number QF46 took off again for Melbourne with 83 passengers on board.

According to the schedule, Qantas Airlines will serve the flight route three times a week, namely on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Herry Sikado added that his party is committed to providing the best service so that international flights that show positive growth can run smoothly. He is also optimistic that the number of international flights at Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport will soon recover.

"This is supported by the ease of flight requirements based on government regulations, so we together with stakeholders must maintain the trust of the government and service users so that all facilities and health protocols run well," he said.
