Make It Easy For Users To Connect With Each Other, Whatsapp Experiments With The Community
JAKARTA - Mark Zuckerberg announced the update of the WhatsApp application on Thursday, April 14 through his Facebook page.
Most of us have used social networks to find interesting content. However, for a deeper level of interaction, messaging has become the center of digital life for almost all people around the world.
"Our messaging service is built around one-to-one text messaging, and it will remain at the core of what we do. But we've also been working on building the next generation of private messaging," said the Facebook creator.
Mark has added video chat, voice messages, stories, commerce, payments and more to WhatsApp and Messenger focused on privacy, safety and security.
"With today's launch, we are taking this further and enabling people to not only communicate with close friends and contacts, but also with all the different communities in your life."
Apart from that, WhatsApp has also started experimenting with Communities. According to Mark, this update will represent a major evolution for the messaging app.
Mark revealed, since WhatsApp was launched in 2009 many people told him that they wanted to use WhatsApp to communicate and coordinate in a community.
But, until now, the product had not been made in a way that made it easy. The company also hasn't shared details on how exactly these groups will be formed.
"We built the WhatsApp Community to make it easier to organize all your group chats and find information. You will be able to unite different groups into one community," continued Mark.
The community on WhatsApp will allow people to bring together separate groups under one umbrella with a structure that suits them. That way, people can receive updates sent across the community and easily organize smaller discussion groups about the things that matter to them.
The community will also contain powerful new tools for admins, including announcement messages sent to everyone and control over which groups can be included.
