Wins New Contracts Of IDR 9.28 Trillion Until March, BUMN Wijaya Karya Optimistic For G20 Event To Boost Performance
JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) is increasingly optimistic about growing its performance in 2022. One of the drivers is the momentum of the G20 event, where Indonesia was appointed as the Presidency in November this year.
WIKA's President Director, Agung Budi Waskito said that 2022 will be the year of economic recovery after the declining trend of COVID-19 transmission, in line with the government's accelerated vaccination program and national economic recovery (PEN) program. "Therefore, this is a signal as well as a momentum opportunity for the company to show positive performance," said Agung in his statement, Tuesday, April 12.
Agung said that the positive lever of the company's performance was the G20 event, where Indonesia was appointed as the Presidency in November this year.
To support the event, said Agung, the government is preparing a number of infrastructures to support the success of the meeting which will be attended by various heads of state of the G20 members, one of which is the Revitalization of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta.
In consortium with PTPP, WIKA won the trust of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) to carry out the Integrated Construction Work Design and Build Revitalization of the Air Force National Army Base / Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta.
In this project, Agung said the consortium would carry out revitalization with the scope of airside and landside work, which includes repairing the runway and taxiway, increasing the apron capacity of the Naratama and Naratetama aircraft.
Halim Perdanakusuma Airport will use PG 76 asphalt with the best quality so that it will further smooth the flights that take place at the airport. Revitalization also includes renovation of the Naratama and Naratetama buildings, renovation of operating buildings, repair of the drainage system in the airport and arrangement of other facilities.
Until the last week of March 2022, Budi said, the company had obtained a new contract of IDR 9.28 trillion, an increase of 99.41 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
"The acquisition of new contracts reached 21.79 percent of the target for new contracts in 2022 of IDR 42.57 trillion. The composition of the acquisition of new contracts in 2022 is targeted at 67 percent from the parent and 33 percent from the subsidiary," said Budi.
For information, in the annual general meeting of shareholders (AGM) which took place today, this share-coded issuer explained its positive performance in 2021 with a record net profit of Rp. 117.66 billion.
Not only that, the Company also managed to increase the number of new contracts, from Rp. 23.37 trillion in 2020 to Rp. 26.81 trillion in 2021.
Agung said that the score clearly reflects WIKA's adaptability in maintaining consistent work performance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, said Agung, this is also a realization of the precautionary principle, especially to ensure liquidity in order to prioritize responsibilities to shareholders and other stakeholders, as well as encourage faster company growth in 2022.
"WIKA wants all elements to recover together, become stronger, and rise from adversity due to the pandemic in the last two years. The cooperation and inclusiveness that has been carried out by all parties can be the answer as well as a recovery solution," he said.
