Need To Be Grateful, Here Are 5 Signs You Most Complain

YOGYAKARTA – Instead of being grateful, complaining is easier to do to express things that are not too bad with negative expressions. According to a study by Yi-Ren Wang and colleagues from the University of Alabama in 2021, complaining can be driven by not knowing how to deal with an unpredictable world. Therefore, as reported by Psychology Today, Susan Krauss Whitbourne, Ph.D., professor emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, recommends the importance of building resilience and self-control over events in your life.

Well, if you're still doing the seven things below, it's a sign that you still need to learn to be grateful, increase self-restraint, and complain less.

1. The problem is only a matter of complaint but not resolved

Finding ways to solve problems is certainly not easy. But it's not good for mental health if problems are piled up and just become the subject of complaints but not resolved. According to health and happiness coach Roopak Desai, as reported by Bustle, Tuesday, April 12, discussing problems and exploring the potential for solving them will certainly be more positive than just whining.

2. Feeling powerless

Because it focuses on the bad and does not build hope, a person will feel helpless in the situation he is in. This condition can also encourage someone to complain more. Because things that are not controlled are not tried to be reached to be resolved.

3. Tired all day

Complaining too much can make you feel physically and mentally exhausted. Complaining means talking about worries, and triggers a stress response in the body. So the activation of the response can drain your energy.

4. It's hard to move on from the past

If you tend to talk about the past, you're more likely to complain. Even made a re-interpretation with great concern. This will not make the past change as expected, but it will make you vulnerable to reaching your goals.

5. Anxiety constantly

Anxiety and stress levels can increase just because of complaining. The reason is, the memory of negative events activates worry and stress to the body's cells. Complaining is also recorded by the brain so that it changes your mindset to always be more negative.

6. Bad mood

Have you ever received a gift but was in a bad mood? Little joys are to be grateful for. Even though the gift is not as expected, what is more important than being grateful for getting happiness.

7. Easily offended

Complaining makes it difficult for someone to be optimistic. Things that are done leading to goals are always considered not going well. In fact, it's easy to get annoyed when you complain more and more.

Of the seven signs above, is there anything you do that often makes you complain all the time? Thank you very much.
