UGM Law Experts Pray For Ade Armando, Leave Message To Police: Chase Violent Perpetrators!
JAKARTA - Gadjah Mada University (UGM) constitutional law expert Zainal Arifin Mochtar said violence in any form is not allowed in a state of law.
Even to opposing parties, he views violence as not a middle way to solve problems. This was conveyed by Zainal in connection with the beating experienced by Ade Armando in front of the Jakarta Parliament Building on Monday, April 11.
"No violence is allowed, especially because of different positions and views," said Zainal via his Twitter account, @zainalamochtar, Monday, April 11.
Zainal urged the police to thoroughly investigate the perpetrators of the beating against Ade Armando. In the end, he wished the social media activist a speedy recovery.
"Chase the perpetrators of violence! Get well soon AA," he said.
Ade Armando was attacked by a group of people during a demonstration held by the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) in front of the Parliament Complex in Senayan Jakarta today.
In the photo obtained by VOI, Ade is also seen without pants in a battered condition, being embraced by the police and entering the DPR Gate for safekeeping.
