Asking For An Extension Of The Term Of Office Of The Governor Of DKI, PKS: Many Of Anies' Kindnesses Are Felt By The Citizens Of Jakarta

JAKARTA - PKS DPP chairman Mardani Ali Sera responded to two Jakarta residents, A Komarudin and Eny Rochayati, who submitted an application through the Constitutional Court to extend Anies Baswedan's term as Governor of DKI Jakarta.

According to him, the extension was not Anies' wish, but the hope of the citizens of the capital.

"I'm sure it's not Mas Anies' wish. This is the hope of some DKI residents," said Mardani, Friday, April 8.

Anies' term as governor of DKI Jakarta will end in 2022. Simultaneous regional elections will be held in 2024.

This member of the DPR from DKI Jakarta assesses that Anies's kindness has been felt by the citizens of Jakarta. So, he said, it was natural for some to ask for their positions to be extended.

"There is a lot of goodness from Mas Anies that residents of Jakarta feel. It is natural to want Mas Anies to be extended," he said.

Even so, the member of Commission II of the DPR reminded that the expectations of the citizens of DKI Jakarta would certainly be met with Law Number 10 of 2016. He also believes that Anies will also comply with the constitution and applicable laws.

"Law No. 10 of 2016 regulates a temporary acting president appointed by the president. Mas Anies as far as I know is very obedient to the constitution and laws and regulations. So just enjoy the dynamics," he said.
