South Korean Coach Paulo Bento Says Portugal's Strength Is Not Only In Ronaldo

JAKARTA – South Korean coach Paulo Bento assesses that Portugal's strength is not only in Cristiano Ronaldo. Selecao das Quinas is considered to have many quality players in every line.

Bento's squad will face Portugal at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year. The two teams are in Group H along with Ghana and Uruguay.

Bento says Portugal are more than just a one-man team and stopping Cristiano Ronaldo will only be one of their tasks at the group stage of the four-year event.

"Our concern right now cannot be just on one player. Everyone knows that he (Cristiano Ronaldo) is one of the best players in the world, forever. But then we need to consider all the Portuguese teams, not just one player," said Bento, reported by Reuters.

Bento knows all about the qualities of the 37-year-old Manchester United forward. Moreover, he coached Portugal from 2010 to 2014.

Ronaldo is one of the best players to watch out for. Moreover, his current status as the player with the highest number of international goals.

"Portugal have a number of players with too much quality in many aspects (and) playing in the most important league in Europe," continued Bento.

Ronaldo will be making his fifth World Cup appearance. Meanwhile South Korea will appear in the finals for the 10th consecutive tournament.

Bento's team escaped comfortably from Group A Asia. However, they finished second behind Iran following a shock 1-0 loss at the hands of the United Arab Emirates in the final qualifying round.
