Good News For Cak Eri, 74.3 Percent Of Surabaya Residents Satisfied With City Government Performance

JAKARTA - 74.3 percent of the public said they were satisfied with the performance of the Surabaya City Government in general. This is summarized from the results of the East Java binoculars survey held by Kompas Research and Development from January 24 to 30, 2022 through face-to-face interviews.

The Deputy General Manager of Research and Development for Kompas, Ignatius Kristanto, explained that the East Java binocular survey was conducted using a stratified systematic sampling method in East Java Province through 1,300 randomly selected respondents.

"The East Java Binoculars Survey has a 95 percent confidence level, the research margin of error is +/- 2.72 percent under simple random sampling conditions. However, errors outside the sample selection are possible," said Ignatius Kristanto when delivering the results of the Kompas Research and Development survey in Mayor's Office, Surabaya City Hall, Wednesday 6 April yesterday as quoted from the official website of the City Government.

The Kompas Research and Development survey also recorded a score of 74.9 percent of the public being satisfied with the performance of the Surabaya City Government which is divided into 15 service areas.

Of the 15 fields, in the first position occupied by 95.3 percent of residents claimed to be satisfied with the increase in health services in Surabaya. Then in the second position, about 90.0 percent of the people are satisfied with the availability of public services in Surabaya. While in third place, 88.1 percent of the public are satisfied with the handling and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Broadly speaking, if the survey results are averaged from the 15 service sectors, as many as 74.9 percent of the people are satisfied with the performance of the Surabaya City Government," he explained.

It is not only the performance of the municipal government in general and the respective service fields that research is carried out. In the East Java Binoculars survey, Compass Research and Development also conducted research on the satisfaction of public services in the city of Surabaya.

As a city that upholds religious tolerance, it is not surprising that research by Kompas Research and Development results in a score of 100 percent of residents being satisfied with the availability of places of worship in the City of Heroes. The results of the survey on the availability of places of worship were then followed by the second position with a score of 96.8 percent of residents being satisfied with public health services.

Meanwhile, in third place, Compass Research and Development noted that 95.4 percent of the people were satisfied with the service for residence documents in the city of Surabaya. "The lowest value of public service satisfaction is related to the availability of parking spaces. That is, as many as 67.7 percent of the people said they were satisfied," he said.

Responding to the survey results, the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, expressed his gratitude to Kompas Research and Development Center for conducting research. According to him, with the results of this research, his party will know more about which services at the Surabaya City Government still need to be improved.

"This way I know better what I must defend and what weaknesses must be improved," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi.

On the other hand, the former Head of the Surabaya City Development Planning Agency (Bappeko) also wants the performance of each Regional Apparatus (PD) in the municipal government to be measured through surveys or research.

"So I also want the performance of the PD to be measurable, so that its capabilities can be improved. So what is lacking can be improved," he concluded.
