Three Students In Palembang Threatened With 6 Years And A Rp60 Billion Fine Due To Solar Subsidy

SOUTH SUMATERA -Three unscrupulous students are threatened with a fine of Rp. 60 billion and imprisonment for 6 years related to cases of alleged abuse of trading and/or transportation of subsidized diesel fuel in Palembang City, South Sumatra.

The three suspects have the initials MRA (21), MN (20), and MFA (20), all residents of Pasar II Village, Muara Enim District, Muara Enim.

As a result of these actions, they were subject to Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas as amended by Article 40 (9) of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. According to Barly, investigators will continue to investigate the alleged case even though the three suspects has admitted that his actions could cause state losses of hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"The suspect confirmed that he had made repeated refills to fill the modified tank in the car they were carrying with a load of 300 liters, then they sold it again. However, we are still investigating this," he said.

Along with the suspect, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of 1 unit of black Kijang LGX car numbered BG-1621-MF whose tank has been modified to contain 300 liters of diesel fuel, 1 unit of Ming Ya oil pump, purchase receipt, Rp. Iphone 7 device unit.

Prior to these three suspects, the Ditreskrimsus Polda Sumsel first arrested two suspects with the same case and location on Monday (28/3).

The two suspects had the initials AP (32) and AR (22). They were arrested with evidence of 1 Panther car numbered BG-1446-NW with a modified tank containing 108 liters of subsidized diesel.

He appealed to residents to report to the authorities if they found a similar mode so that it would not cause a wider, minor impact.
