Beat Cambodia 11-2, Indonesia Qualify For The 2022 AFF Futsal Cup Semifinals

JAKARTA – The Indonesian futsal national team has made sure to qualify for the 2022 AFF Cup semifinals. The Garuda squad got the top four tickets after slaughtering Cambodia.

Indonesia played its final Group A match at the Huamark Indoor Stadium, Bangkok Thailand, on Wednesday, April 6. The Red and White Team had a 2-2 draw in the first half before going on a rampage in the second half and closing the game with a score of 11-2.

Two goals for Indonesia in the first half were each contributed by Ardiansyah Runtuboy Mochammad Iqbal. Meanwhile, Cambodia's equalizer was scored by Ros Sirotha and Chanmony Thong.

In the second half, Indonesia appeared terrific and succeeded in adding eight other goals and an own goal for the opposing team. Those goals were scored by Syauqi Saud and Ardiansyah Runtuboy with three goals each and Marvin Alexa and Evan Soumilena each with one goal.

This is Indonesia's third win during the group stage after previously beating Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam. Meanwhile, one draw was obtained when they met Thailand on Tuesday, April 5 yesterday.

This victory makes Indonesia rise to the top of the standings with ten points. However, that position can still be shifted by Thailand if they are able to beat Malaysia in the last match.

If they qualify as group winners, Indonesia will meet Vietnam in the semifinals. However, if you qualify as runner-up in Group A, then Evan and his friends will face Myanmar.

The semifinals will be held on April 8 and the final on April 10 at the same venue. The two winning teams will immediately advance to the final, while the two winning teams will take third place.
