DPR Member Tells The Minister Of Home Affairs Experience Of Participating In IPDN Praja Tasting Menu: IDR 40 Thousand, Super Very Simple

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian and Commission II of the House of Representatives agreed to increase the budget for food for the Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN).

According to Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Junimart Girsang, the food given to the praja (as IPDN students) is considered too simple. Even for Junimart, their food menu does not meet the nutritional and nutritional needs.

"I don't know if this young praja (IPDN) is ready for combat. Why is that? If you look at the food, it's good. We have also eaten with the praja there. The bell stopped for 5 minutes. The food is also super, very simple. When we asked about the budget, it was far below average," Junimart told Tito during a working meeting at Commission II DPR RI, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 5.

Junimart said the budget for eating IPDN staff was around Rp. 40,000. However, this figure is far below other academies which have more than Rp. 60,000.

It is also recommended that the cost of food for servicemen at IPDN be equal to that of the Police Academy (Akpol) cadets.

"This is very necessary, this is in order to make these young prajas strong. Don't wait until after they come out, they lack vitamins. After they come out, they become weak, weak, weak, and finally weakened," said Junimart.

He said that IPDN is an important official school because it will produce future leaders.

The Minister of Home Affairs at the working meeting welcomed Junimart's suggestion. He agreed that the food budget for IPDN students is still lagging behind compared to other academy cadets, such as the Police Academy.

"I frankly thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, for being concerned about IPDN," said Tito.

Tito also asked for support from Commission II of the DPR RI to jointly voice the issue to the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati so that the IPDN service budget could be equated with the Military Academy (Akmil) of the TNI and the Police.

Not only related to the food budget, Junimart also asked the Minister of Home Affairs to make rules so that IPDN graduates are placed in jobs that match their knowledge.

Junimart said that because he objected to seeing IPDN graduates working as assistants to regional heads.

"They were educated for about 3 years. However, when they were finished they became aide to the regent who lifted their shoes. This is before my eyes how the aide who graduated from IPDN was ordered by the regent who was never a bureaucrat, was given orders to take shoes, maybe more from that, polishing shoes. It's sad," said Junimart conveying his findings to the Minister of Home Affairs.

In this regard, the Minister of Home Affairs did not immediately respond at the meeting. However, written answers to these questions and other questions will be submitted to Commission II of the DPR RI no later than April 11, 2022.
