Increase Patrols During Ramadan, Cirebon Police Target Illegal Race Perpetrators
CIREBON - Cirebon City Police remain vigilant in reducing crime rates during the month of Ramadan 2022 by increasing patrols to maintain public security and order (kamtibmas).
"During Ramadan, we increase patrols to reduce the crime rate," said Cirebon City Police Chief AKBP Fahri Siregar in Cirebon, Tuesday, April 5.
Fahri said the patrols carried out during Ramadan started from dawn, ngabuburit, and also at tarawih.
According to him, the patrols carried out by his staff are to anticipate the occurrence of crimes or kamtibmas in the jurisdiction of the Cirebon City Police.
In addition, Fahri continued, the patrol also targets illegal racing actions that are often carried out during the month of Ramadan. Cirebon City Police will give sanctions to perpetrators of illegal racing activities.
"We will enforce the law if necessary by considering the urgency," he said.
Fahri added that during patrol activities, officers will also continue to educate the public, especially regarding the implementation of health protocols.
Not only that, if possible, officers will also vaccinate at patrol points, in order to increase vaccination coverage in the area. "We also carry out maintenance, regulation and engineering of traffic flow, because during Ramadan there will be many people passing by," he concluded.
