8 Factory Workers Rushed To Hospital After Hot Liquid Spill At Tangerang Iron Smelting Factory

TANGERANG REGENCY - Eight workers at PT SMST or an iron smelting factory in Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency, had work accidents. They suffered burns from being exposed to hot liquids while installing iron waste.

The Tangerang Regency Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho, confirmed the incident. The incident was on Wednesday, March 30.

"Yes, sir, there are 8 (experienced) minor injuries and burns," said Zain, April 4.

Zain admitted that he did not know more about the incident. However, based on the information he received, the incident began when the workers intended to install iron waste.

"This provisional information is that when installing the iron waste, hot liquid came out in the furnace. So the victim was hit," he said.

They are currently investigating the case. Several witnesses have been examined, in order to find out the truth of the incident.

"While we are still investigating, sir. Because we have examined the complainant, asked the witness, at the scene of the case," he said.
