SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with the TNI and Polri held a joint security patrol to prevent brawls between teenagers that often occur in the City of Heroes, East Java.
"According to the direction of the mayor, the Satpol PP is asked to collaborate with various parties to prevent juvenile brawls," said Surabaya Civil Service Police Unit Head, Eddy Christijanto, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 4.
The joint patrol started from 20.00 WIB to 23.00 WIB. In this patrol, Satpol PP together with a joint team from the Surabaya Police and the Tanjung Perak Port Police.
Meanwhile for special patrols, the Satpol PP Rembulan Asuhan Team continued patrols starting from 23.00 WIB to 04.00 WIB.
According to Eddy, to prevent brawls, apart from holding joint patrols, they also made circulars to sub-district heads and lurahs asking for three-pillar patrols in their respective areas.
In addition, he continued, his party also involved community leaders, RT/RW, religious leaders, mosque takmir and organizations such as NU or Muhammadiyah to prevent children from doing things that violate the rules.
Eddy explained, the Rembulan Fostering Team that had been formed would provide direction to teenagers or children who were desperate to go out at night.
The briefing, he said, would be carried out humanely by distributing free sahur during the operation, after which the Rembulan Care Team was asked to return home.
"Later we will invite you to eat free sahur while we educate, then we will direct you to go home," said Eddy.
