Ketum PBNU Gus Yahya Hopes Muslims Fulfill Ramadan Full Of Wisdom

JAKARTA - The General Chair of PBNU, KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya), hopes that Muslims can fast during the holy month of Ramadan 1443 Hijriah with full wisdom.

"I want to share my happiness with the Nahdliyin, Muslims in Indonesia and all Muslims in the world, for the month of Ramadan," said Gus Yahya, quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 2.

Sharing happiness, continued Gus Yahya, for Muslims who have started fasting Ramadan today or who will be fasting tomorrow.

"Hopefully we can get as much wisdom as possible so that we can raise the degree of piety," he said.

Despite setting 1 Ramadan 1443 H to fall on Sunday (3 April 2022), there are a number of Muslims who have started fasting since 2 April.

Gus Yahya is not worried about the uneven implementation of the beginning of the fasting month of Ramadan this year. Because Muslims in the archipelago are used to living above differences, including being different in starting the first day of fasting Ramadan.

Considering that Indonesia is still in a COVID-19 pandemic situation, all worship activities involving the congregation, such as tarawih prayers in mosques, must continue to pay attention to the provisions that apply during the pandemic.

In addition to being grateful for the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, Gus Yahya also reminded that the solemnity of worship in Ramadan can be created by maintaining awareness that COVID-19 is still a threat to everyone.

However, he continued, due to the tendency for the spread and exposure to continue to decline, the government allowed going home together this year.

"However, because Indonesia has not come out of the COVID-19 pandemic status, discipline in maintaining health protocols can be useful for creating a conducive situation for worship. If the trend continues to decline, God willing, we will go home together again in 2020," he said. .

"It is hoped that after going home, nothing that we don't want will happen. So that we can return to normal life," he said.

To the nahdliyin residents, Gus Yahya advised to continue to be istiqamah to improve the practices of Ramadan as taught by kiai, scholars, habaib, and especially the traditions of NU muassis.

"Personally and as the general chairman of PBNU, I wish you a happy worship in the holy month of Ramadan. I advise that nahdliyin residents continue to strive and increase the frequency of their Ramadan worship, following the teachings of teachers, kiai, ulema and habibs that are usually done in NU circles," he said. .
