East Java Governor Khofifah Ensures Stable Supply Of Basic Materials During Ramadan
SIDOARJO - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa stepped down to ensure that the supply and prices of basic commodities at the beginning of the month of Ramadan at the Larangan Market, Sidoarjo, East Java, remained stable.
"Entering the beginning of Ramadan, I want to make sure that the logistics supply of food at the Sidoarjo Prohibition Market is basically stable except for bulk cooking oil," said Khofifah after conducting a review reported by Antara, Saturday, April 2.
Khofifah checks the availability and prices of basic ingredients ranging from sugar, rice, cooking oil, beef, chicken meat, eggs and other products.
Based on the findings in the market, he said, the availability of all is stable and safe, except for bulk cooking oil.
Khofifah said that most of the material prices are still in accordance with data from the Information System for the Development of Basic Materials Availability (SISKAPERBAPO) as of April 1, 2022, the price of beef is around Rp. 113,974 per kg while chicken is Rp. 35,787 per kg.
"For beef, the supply and price are stable. Chicken is slightly above HET. Yesterday it was still at the highest retail price standard (HET), but today there is an increase of IDR 3,000 per kilo," he said.
Then for chicken eggs it is Rp. 24,086, onion per kg is valued at Rp. 27,720, garlic is valued at Rp. 25,961 per kg.
"For the price of chicken eggs below the HET, it's slightly up to Rp. 23,000 per kilo. Then today's shallots are stable, but tend to experience a slight decline in prices," said Khofifah.
In addition, the prices of chili, sugar, and rice tend to be normal, for example, the price of chili is at Rp. 39,191 per kg for large curly red chilies, Rp. 48,461 per kg for ordinary large red chilies, and Rp. 40,121 per kg for cayenne pepper. .
"Chilli, rice and sugar are stable and the prices are normal. Basically, rice and sugar are basic needs for the community. Alhamdulillah, the supply and prices are stable," he said.
However, continued Khofifah, the price and supply of bulk cooking oil is still a problem, because currently East Java still needs sufficient and accelerated supply for bulk cooking oil.
"So there are those who have not received bulk cooking oil for 1 month or 2 weeks. This is a national problem which hopefully can be supplied more quickly and more evenly," he said.
Khofifah stated that she was coordinating directly with the Minister of Trade and the Director General of Domestic Trade. This results in a supply of bulk cooking oil from Kalimantan. But then the authority moved to another ministry.
"So at that time, bulk cooking oil was dropped at the Prohibition Market from Kalimantan. Then the next supply after it was ready, there was a transfer of responsibility from the Ministry of Trade to the Ministry of Industry. We hope that at the beginning of this Ramadan the supply of bulk cooking oil can be smooth," he said.
In addition to cooking oil, he said, from findings in the field, Khofifah said that premium packaged cooking oil was also quite expensive. The purchase price of traders alone has reached fifty thousand rupiah per two liters for premium packaging.
"From what we see in the field, cooking oil with premium packaging is quite expensive because I asked earlier that they bought it for IDR 25,000 per liter. So, they must have sold a margin per liter from what they bought," he said.
Even so, Khofifah hopes that during this Ramadan all basic ingredients can be in stable supply and price. Thus, there will be no shortage of materials or significant price increases.
"So the issue of bulk cooking oil is still our homework. But hopefully entering this Ramadan we can immediately get a more proportional supply according to the need for cooking oil in East Java, which is 59,000 tons per month. Likewise for other ingredients, hopefully they can remain stable," " he said.
