Dozens Of Tourists From Singapore Sail To Lagoi Bintan
BINTAN - Dozens of tourists from Singapore arrived at the international-scale tourist area in Lagoi, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands using the Bupala Sensory Ship.
A total of 69 tourists from Singapore arrived at the Port of Bandar Bentan Telani, Friday at 11.30 WIB. Immigration officers check the documents of tourists, while officers from the Port Health Office check health documents.
Head of the Riau Islands Transportation Agency, Junaidi, said that the inaugural voyage from Singapore to Lagoi with an area expansion scheme for a special vaccination route or Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) was only carried out today.
Besides Lagoi, according to him, Harbor Bay Harbor has also been operating since the travel bubble was implemented.
"The Port of Bandar Bentan Telani Lagoi since the end of February 2022 has been operating to serve passengers every day, but in a travel bubble scheme. This scheme is further expanded, without quarantine in the VTL scheme," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 1.
Meanwhile, the Sri Bintan Tanjungpinang International Port is currently not operating. Within a day or two, it is likely that Singapore and Malaysia have set a shipping schedule.
Fast ships sailing to Malaysia are ships originating from Tanjungpinang, while ships sailing to Singapore or vice versa are ships with the Singapore flag.
"The shipping agency in Tanjungpinang that serves passengers from Tanjungpinang to Malaysia and Singapore is ready. They have communicated with the shipping parties of the two countries to schedule when the ship can start transporting tourists," he said.
