Ioniq 5, Hyundai Electric Car From Cikarang Equipped With I-Pedal And Paddle Shifters
JAKARTA – Indonesia has become one of the electric car markets targeted by Hyundai Motors. At the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Hybrid 2022, Thursday, March 31, PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia introduced its newest electric car, the Ioniq 5. This car was made at the newest factory in Cikarang, West Java.
President Director of Hyundai Motor Indonesia SungJong Ha stated that his party is very happy because today Hyundai presents a new pride as part of the transformation of the Indonesian automotive industry.

"Ioniq 5 has all the advantages that have been desired by the Indonesian people, such as a timeless design, the latest technology, to maximum comfort. This product will be the most appropriate electric car and can be the pride of Indonesia," he added.
The introduction of this electric vehicle product is a new breakthrough and a historic step in the country's automotive industry because it is the first pure electric car (Battery Electric Vehicle/BEV) to be mass-produced in Indonesia, to be precise at the Hyundai factory in Cikarang, West Java.
This electric car, comes with a futuristic design equipped with environmentally friendly materials, and is the first electric car built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), a platform with many advantages designed by the Hyundai Motor Group specifically for this model. BEV vehicles.
"This IONIQ 5 offers the principle of a sustainable lifestyle and a limitless experience. Hyundai equips this electric vehicle with a regenerative braking system, which is a system that will charge the car's battery by utilizing the kinetic energy generated when the car is decelerating.
The use of this regenerative braking system allows this electric vehicle to stop completely using two special features, namely i-Pedal and paddle shifters.
i-Pedal is a feature that provides vehicle speed control which includes acceleration, deceleration and stopping of the vehicle by simply modulating the acceleration pedal and without having to use the paddle shifter manually.
The Paddle Shifter allows the driver to adjust the level of regenerative braking when decelerating with a choice from level 0 to level 3, where the higher the regenerative braking number, the stronger the speed reduction.
The Ioniq 5 is claimed by Hyundai Indonesia to be able to cover a distance of up to 384 KM when the car battery is fully charged.
Not only that, the Ioniq 5 Long Range type also has an even more impressive mileage capability, where the Prime Long Range type can be driven as far as 481 KM and the Signature Long Range type can cover a distance of 451 KM (based on WLTP.
For performance, the Ioniq 5 is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, while the Prime Long Range and Signature Long Range types are able to make the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 7.4. second.
