Polmatrix Survey Of 2024 Presidential Candidates: Jokowi's Electability Is Highest, Prabowo And Ganjar Drop
JAKARTA - Executive Director of Polmatrix Indonesia Dendik Rulianto said the survey results showed President Joko Widodo's electability was still the highest compared to other figures.
"The findings of the Polmatrix Indonesia survey show that Jokowi's electability is the highest, reaching 40.5 percent," he said in a written statement quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 31.
With this achievement, the electability of names that often appear in the 2024 Presidential Candidate (Capres) market is under pressure. For example, Prabowo Subianto, in the December 2021 survey, recorded 19.5 percent, but has now dropped to 12.8 percent.
Likewise, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, who excelled in the December 2021 survey by 19.5 percent but dropped to 9.5 percent.
In contrast to the two names, the electability of DPR Chair Puan Maharani actually started to creep up. Previously, the PDI-P politician only won 1.4 percent electability, but now it has increased to 3.0 percent.
Even though the electability of the former Solo Mayor is high or beats other names, Jokowi cannot run as president because of the constitution.
According to Dendik, politically, the maneuvers of a number of political elites to push Jokowi for three terms could clash with the plan of the PDIP-Gerindra coalition to carry Prabowo-Puan.
Political reality also shows that Jokowi's victory in two consecutive general elections is strongly supported by the PDI-P, he said.
In full, the top four and five positions were occupied by Anies Baswedan, respectively, with 9.0 percent electability and 4.7 percent of Ridwan Kamil. Furthermore, Sandiaga Uno 2.9 percent, Erick Thohir 2.3 percent and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono 2.0 percent.
The Polmatrix Indonesia survey was conducted from 11 to 20 March 2022 to 2,000 respondents representing 34 provinces. The survey method was multistage random sampling with a margin of error of around 2.2 percent for the survey with a confidence level of 95 percent.
