Former Director Of PD Aneka Usaha Detained By Temanggung

CENTRAL JAVA - The Temanggung District Prosecutor's Office, Central Java, has detained MZ, the Director of the Regional Company (PD) of Aneka Usaha Temanggung Regency for the 2018-2021 term of service, after being a suspect in a corruption case involving hundreds of millions of rupiah.

The head of the Temanggung District Attorney's Office, I Wayan Eka Miartha, in Temanggung, Thursday, March 31, saw the need for detention to facilitate the legal process. Detention for the next 20 days and immediately deposited in the detention of the Temanggung Police.

"We detained MZ on suspicion of corruption at PD Aneka Usaha while serving as director with a total state loss of IDR 476,000,347.00," he said as quoted by Antara.

According to him, based on an audit by the Temanggung Regency Government Inspectorate, during his tenure as Director of PD Aneka Usaha in the period 2018-2021, there were financial problems, namely financial irregularities.

Miartha suspected that MZ had abused his authority in his position as director, resulting in state losses. The actions taken by MZ were not in accordance with applicable legal procedures and were not with the knowledge of the supervisory board. The Head of Intel's Office for the Temanggung District Attorney Arif Hidayat said that the prosecutor's team had confiscated Rp350 million in cash from MZ. The money was used as evidence of a crime. In accordance with the provisions of the money deposited in the account of the Temanggung District Attorney.

The suspect was charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

"We also charged him with Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the same law. The threat is from 1 year to life imprisonment and a fine of up to Rp. 1 billion," he said.

He said that the Temanggung Kejari investigator team would in the near future transfer to the Corruption Crime District Court in Semarang for the trial process.
